P229 Holster and Concealed Holsters in general
I have been getting some searches for good carry holsters for the P229. I use the Bianchi CarryLok Model 82 which you can see pictures of here. This holster is a good concealed holster for this gun because of the lock feature. It takes a little time to get used to, but I can draw faster with this than a standard holster with a strap and about the same as one without the strap snapped, maybe faster. The way it works is you have that little lever you push which is spring loaded and on the other end, inside the holster, there is a plastic or whatever it is that sticks out into the trigger guard. This prevents the gun from falling out or being taken out by anyone else. Someone could technically remove it but taking it out from any other angle is more difficult, well what I mean is if someone came up behind you to do it they would have problems compared to you doing it. I HIGHLY recommend this holster to anyone, not just SIG owners, but the P229 does not have a safety so it is even more important that it cant fall out and snag on something or someone can just slide it out. When you buy it there is going to be some tightness from the leather, that will improve and so will your ability to remove it quickly. The slight time it takes you to get used to it is so worth it.
