Improved MySpace layout

Since I moved back to VA I have found a ton of new stuff to learn and play with. One of those is this div overlay mod for myspace that has become somewhat popular. If you take a look at my profile you can see what I am talking about. My layout was originally designed by Derek Punsalan over at 5thirtyone. His layout, dark minimal was what I started with to get an idea of how to do it, but when I got to thinking about it, it would be simpler to just use his base and make a few modifications. Sure it isnt all that original, but neither is most of the stuff on myspace IMO plus if you are reading this on my site you have already seen that I can do the job on my own.

I used to like MySpace, it was a place to meet people and keep up with what friends were doing. Now its just kinda eh. I was actually done with MySpace and said that anyone visiting the profile should go to my site for updates, but after updating my profile I think I might update it more often. The only downside to the div overlay is that if you want to change what friends are displayed or details about you, the profile itself has to be edited. You can’t just click away and change it, well I guess that is what you do anyway it just a little more involved.

So now I demand that everyone with a myspace page make their own div overlay to get rid of those nasty profiles.

** Profile was downgraded to a very basic div overlay because I had myspace
