I am looking into getting another monitor….. or two sometime in the future. I currently have a 1907 by Dell that I enjoy very much and I plan on keeping it for coding because the display rotates giving me a nice long screen to code on. At the same time I think about coding on a wide wide screen and since I don’t trim my text at a certain column the width could come in handy. I have two monitors in mind,
Dell E207WFP 20-inch Widescreen and the Dell 22 Widescreen Flat Panel. The height of the 22 is the same as my 19 inch for the most part and that would be nice, but it is $80 more than the 20 inch, which takes about an inch off my viewable height. I would really like to get the 30″, but I don’t like having to sell my soul to afford a monitor. It would be really nice to get two 22″ Dells and have a 3 independent arm monitor stand put the 22s on each side of the 19 spin the 22s and put them next to each other.
If someone has seen the monitors side by side in person I would appreciate some input.

A lot of traffic comes to my site about the 1800FP that was made by Dell. The post most people arrive at is my post about John from Dell who helped me out huge. This one is to give those of you a couple notes on what options you have.
If this monitor was purchased within 3 years ago call NOW and get a replacement, I received a 1907 since the 1800FP is no longer manufactured. If you are over the warranty period search eBay for “1800FP” and purchase the power supply. They run about $30 dollars and in most cases will fix the problem. It seems there was also a problem with logic board, and I cannot find the information I had about determining which one was the cause. I believe if you have a yellow light constantly it is the logic board, if there are no lights it is the power supply, but with the way the power supplies seem to go out it might be good to have one anyway so if the power supply didn’t fix the problem at least you know you are safe for the future and you can order the LB. The other alternative is to replace the power supply with an LG one that you can get more details about on this post from Ars Technica. I think eBay would be your best bet though.
Good luck.
