I have been noticing for the past few days I am getting A LOT of referrers from porn sites. Obviously my content does not warrant being listed in blowjob categories. At first glance is it strange, but I got to thinking about it and it might be a good tactic for getting traffic. Most people are interested in who is linking to them and I am one of those people. If you get a referrer from thegreatestfakepornurl.com you are going to want to see why the hell they are referring to you so you visit the page. They in turn have a shitload of adds running on that page and each view brings in revenue. They build a script/application that sends information to your website that thegreatestfakepornurl.com have brought traffic to your site and when you go to see what is going on that is money in their pocket. I don’t know what the revenue would be for banners that are never clicked, but I would think doing that to thousands of sites might bring in a little money for their minimal efforts. Maybe the site even shows content that visitor is interested in and they make even more money. I have a couple connections in the adult world and I will let you know what they have to say about it.

I recently moved everything back to my desktop and decided to install Firefox 2.0 from scratch. First off 2.0 has much better eye candy I am extremely happy with upgrading. This upgrade required that I check the compatibility of my favorite extensions. So I made an Mozilla search engine to make it easier. If you didn’t read my post on how to create one here is the link.

This new engine searches the Firefox extensions by default. If you would like to create a different one for themes or to search all addons you will need to change the values, which are described in the file. That also includes making it search the addons and themes for Thunderbird.

Update: I ran a low level format with the Seagate DiscWizard and it looks like it fixed the problem with the drive. Who knows what the hell happened, but I am still unhappy haha.

Here is a summary of the original post:

Drive started getting slow at 2am, 20gb/hr transfer speed, couldnt reformat, called seagate, recommended LLF, did low level format, problem hopefully fixed.

A bunch of other problems happened in between but I hope the problem is fixed. I am going to LLF the other drive right now. Thank god for multiple computers.

Oh and I didn’t get the job at the college. I recieved a letter stating that they did not find anyone and would reopen the search and when I called to see what it is going to take to get the job they told me someone was hired. So that concludes my really screwed up day, but it is only 5:43pm EST a lot more can/will happen.

I am addicted to my linux box. I will give some updates on all that but for right now I am just going to share my desktop.

I have been trying to build a strong resume by learning as much as I can and trying to apply that in enough ways that it sinks in and I have a working knowledge of it. I feel that my resume could use some work, I need to remove things that I really do not know well enough to have on there. I would like to speak to someone either online or even on the telephone about some of the best ways to organize the information in my resume. I have done so many things with computers it takes up a lot of space and that needs to be worked on as well. Please do not refer to the resume online it has changed since I wrote it.
